Dispersed Arizona tent camping is prohibited near town, but you can find excellent primitive (and free!) camping just west of Sedona along the Forest Road #525 and also in the National Forest areas south of Oak Creek Village.

While the area lacks in RV parks and services, there are forest service campgrounds along Oak Creek north of Sedona, as well as dispersed Arizona camping opportunities close to town. Most have incredible views.

There are lots of campgrounds up Oak Creek Canyon with facilities like bathrooms and showers. For dispersed camping, try the Beaverhead Flats Road or head out Loy Butte Road.

There are a number of campgrounds along both the North and South Rims of the canyon. I would suggest camping in either spring or fall as summer can get scorching hot.
