If you are going to set off for any adventures in Colorado, you can make Denver your home base. Enjoy the city before heading off into the mountains. Tour the Downtown Aquarium or visit the Colorado History Museum with its incredible exhibits. Within beautiful City Park you'll find the Museum of Nature and Science, a true must-see.
When you head west on Interstate 70, you'll shortly be deep within the Rocky Mountains. Colorado was a destination of the gold rush era miners who intended to become rich. There are many mining towns to visit within the Rocky Mountains that bring back the feel of the past. Natural hot springs are a popular destination in Colorado, as well as whitewater rafting on the Colorado River, exploring ghost towns and taking scenic train trips. Try Georgetown and Central City for a real feel of the Old West. Aspen and Vail are the favorite locales for skiing fun. The fresh air invigorates and refreshes, and there's wonderful powder to boot.
If going south from Denver, you'll find a tour of the US Air Force Academy a highlight on your vacation. And you simply can't pass up a trip to the top of Pike's Peak, where even in June you may run into a snowstorm!
