Thousands visit Montana each year to take part in some of the most exhilarating outdoor water sports anywhere. From the western part of the state, to the far eastern section, there are lakes and rivers that invite you into the Montana wilds.
At Georgetown Lake, you'll find topnotch trout fishing and perhaps the elusive Lake Kokanee salmon. You can also launch your boat to enjoy the water and spectacular views of the Flint Creek Range. Bean Lake is near Great Falls, MT, and you can find campsites here and a boat launch as well as access for camper trailers. Lonesome Lake is another popular destination, a wetland prairie area where you can enjoy the unique wildlife.
Fly-fishing is a favorite on many of Montana's rivers. The Clark Fork River is 327 miles of great outdoor recreation. A few other rivers include the Gallatin River, a tributary of the Missouri, the Bitterroot River, and the Blackfoot and Bighole Rivers.
