Water sports are abundant at Lake Mead, right on the border of Nevada and Arizona. Take to the water to enjoy some fishing or boating. The state also boasts a national forest (Humbolt-Toiyabe National Forest) that is well worth visiting and a number of wildlife areas such as the Desert National Wildlife Range and Sheldon National Wildlife Refuge. And don't miss Death Valley National Park, where the heat can be intense and you have to go prepared.
Reno is another gambling center, but there is so much more. Besides the casinos, you can find great food and even greater entertainment. Big star perform here regularly. From any point in the state you can take off for some exciting off-road adventures. Traveling on Highway 50 isn't considered "off-road," but you'll feel as though you were on another planet when driving on this highway known as the "Loneliest Road in America."
