Utah
Utah is a great vacation destination when you want to get away from it all and relax. Geological wonders await you here, as well as recreation in the outdoors that can't be beat. From north to south, Utah has something for everybody!
Salt Lake City is a favorite of many visitors, with its nearby mountain resorts and historic sites. When visiting, be sure to see the Beehive House, the restored residence of Brigham Young. You can also visit Olympic Park where the 2002 Winter Games were held. To the east, Wasatch-Cache National Forest offers lots of wilderness adventures, including hiking, horseback riding and much more. Skiing is perfect here in the winter months. North of Salt Lake you'll find Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge and Golden Spike National Historic Site, commemorating the first transcontinental railroad completion in the US. Find Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area in the northeast corner and marvel at the colored canyons and acres of forests.
Of course, you must plan on moving south, because some incredible sights are there for your pleasure. Arches National Park is a geologic wonder, in the high desert, boasting around 2,000 sandstone arches. Canyonlands National Park is also a must, with an array of red rock formations and deep orange canyons. Don't forget Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon National Park. There's so much to see that you'll have to extend your Utah vacation so you can take it all in.
